Browse all the code, of course, open source
Wellcome to r3dcode, where you can find commented source code about several open source projects
R3dcode is like a virtual ftp server where you can browse the folders content. All the files in a folder can also be viewed. In some of the projects you will find several releases, not only the last one. Enjoy the source code! :)
The projects
-
bash
Bourne Again Shell, the official shell for the GNU/Linux operating system.
-
cassandra
Apache Cassandra is an open source distributed database management system. It is an Apache Software Foundation top-level project designed to handle very large amounts of data spread out across many commodity servers while providing a highly available service with no single point of failure. It is a NoSQL solution that was initially developed by Facebook and powered their Inbox Search feature until late 2010. Jeff Hammerbacher, who led the Facebook Data team at the time, has described Cassandra as a BigTable data model running on an Amazon Dynamo-like infrastructure.
-
coderay
Fast and easy syntax highlighting for selected languages.
-
CouchDB
Apache CouchDB is a document-oriented database that can be queried and indexed using JavaScript in a MapReduce fashion. CouchDB also offers incremental replication with bi-directional conflict detection and resolution.
-
Drupal
Drupal is an open source content management platform powering millions of websites and applications. It’s built, used, and supported by an active and diverse community of people around the world.
-
elasticsearch
So, we build a web site or an application and want to add search to it, and then it hits us: getting search working is hard. We want our search solution to be fast, we want a painless setup and a completely free search schema, we want to be able to index data simply using JSON over HTTP, we want our search server to be always available, we want to be able to start with one machine and scale to hundreds, we want real-time search, we want simple multi-tenancy, and we want a solution that is built for the cloud.
-
gcc
The GNU Compiler Collection includes front ends for C, C++, Objective-C, Fortran, Java, Ada, and Go, as well as libraries for these languages (libstdc++, libgcj,...). GCC was originally written as the compiler for the GNU operating system. The GNU system was developed to be 100% free software, free in the sense that it respects the user's freedom.
-
GIMP
The GNU Image Manipulation Program. A free alternative to Photoshop- Lots of people find it indeed better.
-
grep
A commad line tool for findind lines matching a pattern.
-
hadoop
The Apache Hadoop software library is a framework that allows for the distributed processing of large data sets across clusters of computers using a simple programming model. It is designed to scale up from single servers to thousands of machines, each offering local computation and storage. Rather than rely on hardware to deliver high-avaiability, the library itself is designed to detect and handle failures at the application layer, so delivering a highly-availabile service on top of a cluster of computers, each of which may be prone to failures.
-
LibreOffice
LibreOffice is the power-packed free, libre and open source personal productivity suite for Windows, Macintosh and GNU/Linux, that gives you six feature-rich applications for all your document production and data processing needs: Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw, Math and Base. Support and documentation is free from our large, dedicated community of users, contributors and developers.
-
linux-kernel
The Linux kernel is an operating system kernel used by the Linux family of Unix-like operating systems. It is one of the most prominent examples of free and open source software.
-
Magento
It is an ecommerce based on open source. Developed by Magento Inc. Built over the Zend Framework, it uses the Entity-attribute-value (EAV) model to store data.
-
mongodb
MongoDB (from "humongous") is an open source, high-performance, schema-free, document-oriented database written in the C++ programming language. It manages collections of BSON documents that can be nested in complex hierarchies and still be easy to query and index, which allows many applications to store data in a natural way that matches their native data types and structures.
-
mono
An open source, cross-platform, implementation of C# and the CLR that is binary compatible with Microsoft.NET
-
nginx
nginx [engine x] is an HTTP and reverse proxy server, as well as a mail proxy server, written by Igor Sysoev. For a long time, it has been running on many heavily loaded Russian sites including Yandex, Mail.Ru, VKontakte, and Rambler. According to Netcraft nginx served or proxied 7.84% busiest sites in October 20110
-
phpbb
phpBB is a free flat-forum bulletin board software solution that can be used to stay in touch with a group of people or can power your entire website. zsh
Zsh is a shell designed for interactive use, although it is also a powerful scripting language. Many of the useful features of bash, ksh, and tcsh were incorporated into zsh; many original features were added. The introductory document details some of the unique features of zsh. It assumes basic knowledge of the standard UNIX shells; the intent is to show a reader already familiar with one of the other major shells what makes zsh more useful or more powerful. This document is not at all comprehensive; read the manual entry for a description of the shell that is complete, concise and up-to-date, although somewhat overwhelming and devoid of examples. Alternatively, the user guide offers wordy explanations of many of the shell's features.
